DCP Signs Exclusive Investment in Jamieson Wellness, Canada's Number One Consumer Health Brand

DCP Capital (“DCP”) announced today that it has reached agreement on an exclusive investment in Jamieson Wellness Inc. (hereinafter referred to as “Jamieson” or the “Company”), one of the most respected vitamins, minerals, and supplements (“VMS”) companies in the world and owners of Canada's number one consumer health brand. Upon completion of the investment, the two parties will form a joint-venture in China to enhance Jamieson's brand presence in China, and accelerate its rapid growth by leveraging expertise and resources of both parties.
Founded in 1922, Jamieson is the number one VMS company in Canada with more than a thousand kinds of health products that are sold in more than 45 countries around the world. Jamieson’s high quality products are renowned for their strong bioactivity that can be easily absorbed and utilized by the human body. The Company’s product portfolio is supported by Jamieson’s strong R&D capabilities and world-class manufacturing network. Jamieson’s manufacturing facilities located in Windsor, Ontario, Canada supply both the Canadian and international markets, operating at pharmaceutical standards as certified by Health Canada. Based on increasing health awareness amongst Chinese consumers that has fueled consistent high growth rates, the size of China's VMS market has exceeded US$30 billion, making it the second largest market in the world. Among all the brands available in China, overseas health care brands with a long history and reputation for high quality, such as Jamieson, are becoming preferred by local consumers. According to Euromonitor data, the cross-border e-commerce channel, which is the main sales channel for overseas brands, has maintained a high growth rate of about 34% in the past five years.
